Simply … be nice!

Psychologist Daniel Goleman found that nice people simply make more money. There seems to be a direct connection between having a nice (or agreeable) character and job-related / personal success.

‘Nice’ also wins in love related issues. A Toronto research study shows that the divorce rate of couples who are nice to each other is about 50 per cent less than that of the rest of the population.

‘Nice’ also leads to healthier lives, as a study conducted at Michigan University shows. For example, elderly people who are more inclined to help others instead of only caring for themselves have a 60 per cent chance to live longer than their more self-centered counterparts.

There are three main qualities that characterize nice people: Empathy and intuition, the readiness to help others, and a great level of authenticity and congruence.

These core characteristics endow nice people with a high level of likability and the means to lead easier – and thus happier – lives.
