Nothing is as intimately familiar and easy as clinging to old habits – but nothing is more stultifying to the mind as well.
New experiences beyond the common habits are important for personal growth. Studies show that people who do not experience anything new and who do not de-clutter their old habits tend to gain less and less from their old experiences to be useful for them. Their mental attitude becomes hardened and more narrow minded; they’ll become more rigid and more dogmatic overall.
To let go of three old or bad habits per year is an important step towards personal happiness; getting a coach helps tremendously in identifying the benefits of new habits and better habits, and facilitates people in obtaining them for the long-term.
